Austin College

Austin College Logo

Because Austin College is related by Covenant to the Presbyterian Church (USA) we approach every student with humility, hospitality, and honesty. Humility means we do not claim to tell students whether or how to have faith or what their faith should be. Hospitality means we work hard to help every interested student find communities to live out their chosen faith. Honesty means we continue to cherish and proclaim our historic and ongoing relationship with the PCUSA.

We award Sara Bernice Moseley Scholarships to students who have been members of a Presbyterian Church (USA) congregation for at least six months, have demonstrated high academic achievement, and been actively involved in the life of the Church. A limited number of $1,000 to $3,000 awards are available each year. This scholarship is renewable for each undergraduate year, provided the student maintains good academic standing and remains involved in meaningful ways in the life of the Church and/or in service to others.

Austin College gives Westminster Awards to students who are dependents of Presbyterian Church (USA) Professionals. Awards for qualified students range from $1,000 to $15,000 annually.

Founded in 1849, Austin College is a liberal arts institution north of Dallas in Sherman, Texas. The 100-acre environmentally green campus is home to 1200 students, more than 50% of whom are people of color and 20% of whom are first-generation college students. More than 26% of our students participate NCAA Division III athletics in 14 varsity teams.
