When & Where
The assembly will convene with worship at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, and adjourn by noon on Saturday, June 23. See the proposed docket. The full Schedule of Events includes descriptions of the many meetings, meals, and other events taking place during the assembly.

Assembly business meetings will be held at the America’s Center Convention Complex in downtown St. Louis, Missouri. Most other meetings and events will take place there or in one of the assembly hotels.

Dining & Meals
Some group meals are provided at the America’s Center for commissioners and advisory delegates. Other participants can purchase tickets to these as they register. There are concession areas in the convention center, restaurants in the assembly hotels, and many other restaurants and other dining outlets nearby.


Many of the optional events scheduled during the assembly include a meal. Tickets can be purchased as you register; please also indicate special dietary restrictions.

Space for Prayer
A space at the America’s Center will be set aside for personal prayer and spiritual refreshment and staffed by volunteers from the Committee on Local Arrangements.
Children at the Assembly
The General Assembly is a business meeting, with very long days and few family-oriented activities. Plenary and committee meetings can last from 8:30am to 9:30pm or later most days. On-site child care is not available during the General Assembly, but for those who do bring children to the General Assembly, the OGA is working with the Committee on Local Arrangements to provide for a Family Room in the convention center, open during the hours of plenary sessions and committee meetings. It will not be staffed; parents may spend time with their child(ren) there. It will be equipped with rocking chairs, refrigerator, and other appropriate furnishings and equipment.

Commissioners and advisory delegates should review information about the Dependent Care Policy and reimbursable expenses; other participants whose expenses are covered by one of the GA agencies should consult their agency’s policy and procedures.

The Gift Project
The Gift Project is an assembly tradition, providing attendees an opportunity to give back to our generous hosts. The Presbytery of Giddings-Lovejoy is offering a multi-part Gift Project. Participants are asked to bring new men’s or women’s crew socks, and will also have an opportunity to participate in several hands-on mission projects in a special area in the assembly exhibit hall.  These projects include:

  • Prepare “go-bags” for our unhoused neighbors in St. Louis. These will include the crew socks donated by GA attendees and other items, and will be distributed by various organizations, including Churches on the Streets and  Louis Winter Outreach (working also in summer).
  • Prepare summer activity packs for children served by Churches on the Street summer youth outreach
  • Help get a head start on winter 2018 by making Prayer Scarves that will be distributed throughout the St. Louis area. Cut and tie fleece scarves and pray for the women, men, and children who are impacted by adverse weather conditions.
  • Working with the Office of Public Witness and local social justice advocates, write letters to government officials on issues of concern.
  • Working with Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, prepare care packages needed by communities throughout our nation that have suffered from natural and human made disasters.

Financial donations will also be accepted to provide supplies for these projects.

Connect. Engage. Discern.

Come to Face-to-Face, sponsored by the Office of the General Assembly’s Church Leadership Connection (CLC) , to connect with search committees, mid council staff, and church professionals. Engage in conversation beyond the Personal Information Form (PIF) and the Ministry Information Form (MIF). Discern God’s call to new chapters of vocation and ministry. Participate in workshops, call consultations, or pop-up information sessions and listen for the movement of the Holy Spirit. The Face-to-Face schedule is below. CLC staff will be present to assist you.

GA Participant List

The list of the names of GA commissioners by presbytery is available at no charge at under resources.

In accordance with Standing Rule B.6 in the Manual of the General Assembly,

Upon request, the Stated Clerk shall make available the list of participants registered for a session of the General Assembly to entities of the General Assembly, councils of the denomination, educational institutions, teaching elders, ruling elders, and independent organizations composed primarily of members of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). A fee will be charged for lists or mailing labels to cover the costs incurred for printing, postage, and handling.

You may use this process to order a mailing list of participants of the 223nd General Assembly (2018). The list will be an excel spreadsheet and will include each registrant’s name, address, role, and (for commissioners and advisor delegates) committee assignment. Email addresses are NOT included. It will sent as an attachment by email within 3 working days of the paid order.

The fee is $35 per list, per order.

Photography & Media Release
The General Assembly represents the bond of union, community, and mission among Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) congregations and governing bodies. As such, individual Presbyterians and many others are interested in the work and activities of the General Assembly.


Photographers, reporters, videographers, historians, and many others will be capturing cherished moments at this gathering of the church. By being a part of this event, you may find your image, voice, or quotes used in reporting or promotion. The Open Meeting Policy of the PC(USA) calls on us to conduct our ministries in this spirit of openness, trust, and public scrutiny. By attending and participating, you give Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), A Corporation, its affiliated institutions, related entities, and ecumenical partners permission to use your image, voice, feedback, and quotes on a perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable basis in any and all media including, but not limited to, websites, print, cable, and broadcast media without submission or re-submission to you for approval. Using a camera, camcorder, or tape recorder is permitted during conference sessions, provided that participants in the meeting are treated with courtesy and respect, the photographer does not obstruct the view of other participants, and camera flashes or other lights do not interfere with participants or proceedings.

During worship or other times of prayer, all participants and members of the press should be respectful of the sacred nature of the event. Photographs made with the use of existing lighting are permitted in these services if taken unobtrusively and without disrupting either the service itself or individual worshipers. Flash photography is not permitted.

We ask that those taking photographs or other images using children as subjects assure that the child’s identity is protected, or receive permission from the parent/guardian.
